Roles, Accountability & Responsibilities RAR:   

  • Develop and implement long term preventative and predictive inspection plans for static equipment and piping systems.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all fabrication, erection and construction activities within the plant and at vendor shops meet engineering specifications, regulatory, industry codes and other relevant industrial standards.
  • Perform in-service inspection, including corrosion monitoring of equipment and piping and executing NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) to confirm integrity of equipment repairs, modification and new construction.

  • Technical degree or alternatively 10+ years of relevant work experience in a petrochemical, chemical or refinery production facility.• Willingness to take a RSO training program and pass required examinations.

Able to assume responsibility for a ‘user inspector’ operation and demonstrate a clear and justified view of the subject of risk. Be able to make detailed comparisons of inspection results with code/defect acceptance criteria and justify conclusions using code calculations. In cases where corrosion and other in-service defects are found, the inspector is able to allocate severity levels and contribute input to a risk-based-inspection (RBI) scheme, if applicable.
